With 1878 identified species, Colombia has more bird species than any other country on the planet. During the Global Big Day on may 4, 2019, 750 bird species were identified in Antioquia, the department in which Cannúa is found. In total, over 1050 bird species have been identified in Antioquia alone.
At Cannúa, we are in the process of cataloging our resident avian friends, and to date have identified 90 bird species, including colorful Andean motmots, green jays, and emerald toucanets.
We welcome both experienced birders and enthusiasts to visit and help us grow our list of identified species!
