- Set limits on population and consumption: By governing our own needs, we can reserve resources to promote the above principles.
Permaculture is a conscious design philosophy based on observation of nature.
Originally formulated by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren in the late 1970s in Australia, permaculture has grown into a worldwide movement centered on three ethical principles:
We are currently in the process of creating nearly 8,000 square meters of organic gardens and food forests based on permaculture principles. As part of a visit to Cannúa we offer a guided tour of the property to learn the basic design philosophy, ethics and principles of permaculture and see how they were applied to the construction of Cannúa. And if you want to get your hands dirty, you can help our gardeners plant some vegetables, herbs or even a native tree as part of our conservation efforts.
